![]() SkyscraperCurious to know more about the gravity defying construction of skyscrapers, I built one of my own in the backyard. It featured precast reinforced concrete floors, shear and torsional load poured-in-place concrete core and load bearing steel columns around the perimeter. Finished out with film tinted glass curtain wall and aluminum trimming along floors. ![]() SkyscraperAt this stage many of the precast concrete floors have been moved into place. Beams for the next floor are ready to be bolted into place. These will span the floor, transferring gravity loads to perimeter columns. |
